The Chwabo tribe use the roots to induce & clarify dreams and to enhance memory.
They are also known to snuff the bark, which they call `maranga'.

General :
Favoured food of the blue duiker, which eats both the pods and the seeds.
Leaves are browsed by elephants.
Leaves are sometimes used as a "sponge" for washing.
Nectar attracts many butterflies.
The bark is much favoured for medicinal purposes.
Wood is light, pale brown.
Poles are used for hut building.
