If chewed in sufficient quantity Sceletium has a mild anesthetic effect in the mouth, much like kava. A tea made from Sceletium is sometimes used to wean alcoholics off alcohol.

Although the plant has been used for thousands of years in Africa, it is only now being sought by the West for its remarkable capacities to uplift the mood, increase energy levels and concentration spans. Sceletium is also being used as a natural anti-depressant that is safer than the pharmaceutical alternatives.

Kanna (sceletium) is used to rebalance the brain and nervous system and thereby relieve symptoms of depression. This has been proven to be extremely effective and safe.

Contra-indications :
Doctors recommend that it not be taken with other sedating, anti-depressants, or heart medication. Whether or not it can be safely taken by pregnant women has not yet been scientifically confirmed but no cases involving any negative effects have been reported.

How to use Sceletium :
The easiest way is to simply add a small amount into a cup of tea,
but any liquid works fine, or just put some in your mouth and swallow it down with water, etc.
